I love yoga!

That might sound like an awfully simple statement, but I really do!  Yoga has been a part of my life for more than a decade.  I initially found it while on a search for relief from back, hip and foot pain.  Through a regular yoga practice I found relief from pain, weight loss, better posture and improved balance, as well as increased energy and strength. And it wasn’t long before I began to appreciate not only the physical aspects of yoga, but the mental benefits as well: Yoga truly does alleviate stress!

Following a strong calling to introduce others to the benefits of yoga, I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training in March 2018 and am now thrilled to share the art of yoga with others as a Yoga Alliance-certified instructor.  Join me for a class at New Genesis Center on Gordon Ave. in Thomasville!

A great discipline and mode of exercise for everyone, yoga offers both physical and mental benefits.   It improves strength, flexibility, balance and postural alignment.  At the same time practicing yoga can help an individual reduce stress and anxiety, build concentration, promote self-expression and learn calming techniques.

Yoga isn't just about complicated poses and movements.  It’s a preventative holistic approach to wellness that can be enjoyed by all ages and individuals of all fitness levels.

This is an entry-level class designed for all ages and abilities.  After centering and a thorough warmup, students are led in standing, prone, seated and supine postures at an easy pace, allowing ample time in each shape.  Breath awareness, deep stretching and safe alignment are highlighted.  Students are advised to rest when they like and are offered modifications based on their unique abilities so that postures are as accessible as possible for all students.

Tuesdays at 5:45 pm

A vinyasa-style class focusing on mindful movement and breath to link postures together.  It's perfect for the student looking to advance beyond the basics, but is also accessible for the new yogi.  Options to intensify postures, as well as modifications for beginners, are offered.  All students will expand their knowledge of yoga, build strength, increase flexibility and develop mind-body awareness.

Fridays at 8:15 am

Saturdays at 8:30 am
